FOX News Ratings Fall Off Post-Election Night

Numbers indicate that some viewers have sought other options following the network’s decision to call Joe Biden a winner in Arizona on Election Day. Anchor Chris Wallace said the decision desk would not waiver in its decision.

Fox News took a large hit in the ratings battle following the election, according to numbers released by Nielsen ratings. The network amassed more than 14 million viewers during its prime-time coverage on Election Day but just 5.7 million for its prime-time coverage between Election Day and Sunday.

Numbers indicate that some viewers have sought other options following the network’s decision to call Joe Biden a winner in Arizona on Election Day. Anchor Chris Wallace said the decision desk would not waiver in its decision.

President Trump has also been critical of the network saying that they were “doing nothing” to help him and other Republicans get re-elected. Trump wasn’t shy about ripping the network when he thought they were being unfair to him.

Fox News anchor Sandra Smith was visibly irritated last weekend when a panel guest stated that Joe Biden had not won the 2020 presidential election. Smith could be heard questioning the validity of the statement. “What? What is happening?” Smith said. “Trace, we’ve called it.” She was talking to her colleague Trace Gallagher.

CNN garnered slightly more viewers than Fox News following the election with 5.941 million viewers.

Fox News contributor Britt McHenry hasn’t appeared in months on the network and states that she remains on the sidelines due to suing her former co-host and Fox News during an interview with The Daily Beast.

A U.S. district judge denied Fox News contributor Tyrus’ request to dismiss McHenry’s lawsuit, alleging that her former Fox Nation co-host repeatedly harassed her via lewd, inappropriate text messages.

Despite the ongoing lawsuit, the former professional wrestler has appeared on Fox’s airwaves at least ten times. Furthermore, he’s the co-host of the highly-rated late-afternoon talk show The Five.

“All I want to do is work,” McHenry told The Daily Beast. “But when you flip on the TV and see your harasser once again given on-air promotions, it sends a clear message that solving this appropriately on Fox News’ end isn’t in the cards.” According to the conservative media outlet, they’re not benching McHenry. The network renewed her contract for two more years and added that she could pitch herself to appear on Fox News or Fox Business Network shows like any other contributor.

Cable News Coverage of Biden Inauguration Ran the Gambit

Coverage of President Joe Biden’s big day came with little to no scrutiny on the left-leaning networks.

The tone of cable news coverage during Inauguration Day depended entirely on who you voted for. Anchors at CNN and MSNBC offered dismal and sarcastic opinions about President Trump’s four-year term while reporters at Fox News, One America News Network (OANN) and Newsmax offered a less critical analysis of the 45th President.

OANN, the nation’s most friendly Trump network, covered the president’s final White House goodbye with pre-taped video packages and in-depth analysis. The network also produced a 48-minute video for its website called “Trump – Legacy of a Patriot.”

Fox News Described Trump as a hard-working man while host Dana Perino repeatedly and delicately referred to him as a “disruptor.” Anchor Martha MacCallum claimed Trump has “worked hard in the past 48 hours to finish this on a more gracious note.”

CNN sent reporter Jim Acosta to cover Trump’s departure at Joint Base Andrews. Acosta, who worked in the White House for the last four years and had several run-ins with Trump, called him an “autocrat” as his plane was headed towards Florida.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer called the turn-out for Trump’s farewell “pathetic” piggybacking off of the seeming disgust that Acosta was reporting with.

“He looks small,” CNN anchor Dana Bash opined as the defeated 45th president and his unpopular first lady, Melania, made their way across the South Lawn to Marine One. “He just looks like a small man.”

Coverage of President Joe Biden’s big day came with little to no scrutiny on the left-leaning networks. CNN and MSNBC seemed to ignore the fact that Biden signed 17 executive orders erasing key aspects of Donald Trump’s presidency.

FOX Co-Host Greg Gutfeld Rips Media Fawning Over Biden Inauguration

Gutfield demonstrated his points with several soundbites from various networks including CNN and MSNBC who seemed to rejoice in Trump’s plane departing Joint Base Andrews.

The Five co-host Greg Gutfield ripped the mainstream media for practically “drooling” with compliments for President Joe Biden while almost “spitting” on Donald Trump during Inauguration Day coverage.

Gutfield demonstrated his points with several soundbites from various networks including CNN and MSNBC who seemed to rejoice in Trump’s plane departing Joint Base Andrews.

“A welcomed sight for many Americans,” proclaimed MSNBC. “He’s almost leaving town like an autocrat,” said CNN’s Jim Acosta.

Gutfield said he was amazed by the “emotional intensity of the [media’s] conformity” He also called the media “predictable” and compared them to “children.”

Meanwhile, Trump said goodbye to a small crowd at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland where he touted his administration’s accomplishments and wished the new administration “great luck and success.”

“I hope they don’t raise taxes, but if they do I told you so,” said Trump.

Gutfield claimed that the media will handle Joe Biden’s administration with kid gloves, avoiding controversy at all costs.

“Don’t worry there will be no anonymous sources feeding Wolf Blitzer stories of Joe Biden meltdowns,” proclaimed Gutfield. “What will the media do after all of their bitter, emotional farewells?”
